The University of New Mexico Lobo Men's Soccer Team continued to build on the precedent of success with the historic 2011 season, during which it finished undefeated for the first time in the history with an 18-0-4 record.  The Lobos finished their season ranked No. 1 in the country in all three major polls, and the team took first place in three tournaments, including the TLC, Plumbing, Heating & Cooling Invitational, the University of Akron Tournament, and the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation tournament. New Mexico made its ninth NCAA Tournament appearance in the past 11 seasons and its third in the "Sweet 16" (2004, 2005 and 2011). Also in
2005, the Lobos advanced to the National Championship game for the first time in
program history.  Head coach Jeremy Fishbein has seen to it that the Lobos maintain
the highest academic standards with a 3.2 GPA or higher in seven out of the past eight
years. All the while the Lobos have maintained their commitment to community service.
